Stitchers - Finished Objects and Works In Progress

The Stitcher gals have been busy.

Nancy's made this tiny baby hat for her little Grand-daughter -- we can't wait to see pictures of her modeling her new sun-hat. I have this pattern and after seeing how very cute it is -- I need to get one cut out for Baby Laney before the summer is over.
There's another baby blanket on the needles for Sherry and it's so lovely -- the picture truly does not do it justice. And, if I remember correctly, the pattern is Ostrich Plume. Some baby is going to be very blessed to receive this blankie.

Jackie found a number of Sun-Bonnet Sue quilt blocks in an antique shop and they followed her home. Currently, they are being sewn up into a quilt that will be auctioned at our church. Nancy is using fabric from her stash and sewing the blocks together with a beautiful borders/sashings. Here she is piecing away last night while Jackie & Wanda were busy with the pressing.

I love the colors in all those little squares and how they compliment the prints of the dresses and bonnets of the those antique little girls. Nancy has such an eye for color/prints and I'm sure this quilt will generate some fierce bidding and our church charity will reap the benefit of all their hard work on this quilt.
