Here on the Southern Plains, I grew up under a wide open sky; sky that stretched from horizon to horizon.
The grey sky of fall and winter, heavy with snow or rain --
The bright-blue sky of spring, filled with slowing drifting clouds --
The cloudless pale blue summer sky, shimmering with heat --
These skies are all beautiful in their own way --
but, my favorite sky has to be the beautiful 'end of the day' sky
