Friday morning, my daughter and I were off to an early start, heading north on I-35 out of Oklahoma City and bound for Leawood, Kansas ( a suburb of Kansas City ) to visit my son and his family.
A few hours later, we made our first stop -- the Kansas Visitor Center to stretch our legs and use the 'facilities' We also admired a Historical Marker and carvings in stone depicting life on the Kansas prairie.
Arriving in Leawood by mid-afternoon gave us time to visit with my daughter-in-law and grand-daughters. Later that evening after dinner, we all headed out for an evening stroll. The adults would slowly walk along talking and visiting while little Phoebe would skip ahead -- sometimes she had to have a little sit-down to wait for the rest of the 'slow-pokes' !
After the horses had been petted and admired, we all headed home -- to bathe grandbabies, tuck them in for the night, then talk some more.
At the end of the walking trails, this site greeted us -- and, as far as Phoebe was concerned, this was the best part of the walk !
