Last night was our weekly 'Stitchers' meeting --
which always means lots of talking/laughing/sharing.
Carol was working on another baby afghan in the beautiful shade of lavender (the picture does not even come close to the true color). If I remember correctly from Carol's instructions, this 'un-pattern' is as follows: Row1: knit, Row 2: purl, Row 3: knit, Row 4: k2tg, yo to end of row and then repeat all rows in order. Hope I got down correctly -- it creates a light-airy fabric that drapes very nicely. Some baby is going to be very lucky to receive this blankie!
Also, Jane was showing me a new (to me at least) cast on -- called 'tubular cast on' -- I'm definitely going to have to sit at her elbow and try it numerous times to get this one right -- but, I'm game if Jane is willing.
Speaking of Jane - last she was the recipient of many hugs and words of comfort from our entire group last night. Yesterday Jane's beloved dog, Calli, passed away. Miss Cali was a constant companion to Jane for over 13 years and one of the sweetest dogs I've ever known. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
Rest in Peace Miss Cali.
