Back in a routine . . . .

After a short break in our schedule, Stitchers met last night --
Jane modeled a hat and scarf made by her sister, Ilo. The red hat was purchased and then embelished with fancy yarns. The scarf was knitted and also trimmed with fancy yarn. Jane said that they were very warm for her walks in this colder weather. Nothing like hand-knits to keep you warm and stylish !
Carol brought her current quilting project to work on -- a Fons & Porter pattern, 'The Circle of Life' -- a baby quilt in bright colors and prints.

The circles of fabric are backed with fusible webbing and then pressed in place on a square of fabric -- blanket stitching around each circle is the finishing touch for the block. A great little hand-stitching project to take along for those doctor's visits or lunch hours.

The blocks will be sashed with another bright fabric and we can't wait to see the finished quilt.

As we stitched we shared family stories of the holiday and some shopping horror stories too. I think we all agreed that although we enjoyed the food, the family, the parades, -- we were all ready to get back into a regular routine again.

After all the hustle/bustle of the long holiday weekend it very nice to come and sit for a bit -- stitch a little -- and laugh/talk a lot with friends.
