You can't make just one . . . . .

Nothing much was on television Wednesday night (or at least not much that I was interested in anyway) -- this led to some time in my little sewing corner. My crafting/sewing journal was consulted for measurements and ideas (from bags made for the KC girls last year) -- some were rejected, others were implemented.

An hour later I had these two Trick or Treat bags to show for my time/effort.    The Transformer bag on the left is for Joe and measures approx 11"x11". The leopard-print bag on the right is for Laney and measures approx 9"x9".  Both bags were lightly quilted using a fusible fleece as backing, the linings are Halloween prints -- everything thing was from my stash!

Such fun making these little bags -- and, very addictive too !
I've already got plans to make at least two more.

Happy Day

Comfy clothes (aka MoMo-made pj pants with t-shirt to match) is what he wants to wear every day - - -

He thinks garage sales are just as much fun as a trip to Target - - -

And, having a snack on MoMo's bed while watching a Scooby Doo movie is pretty cool.

Our sweet 'little guy' is turning 6 years old today.
Happy Birthday

Field of Dreams -- for little guys

Grandson Joe's T-Ball team, The Tornadoes, played their last game of the season last night. It was hot & windy, but the sodas were cold and the popcorn was great. Parents, siblings and grandparents were out in full force to cheer on their teams.

Joe swings and hits a grounder going right over the pitcher's mound - - - -

He makes a dash for first base - - - -

A couple more hits and Joe runs it in - - - -

At the end of the game, both teams meet at Home Plate to say - - - -

'Good Job' by everyone !!

First Picnic

A beautiful day for a picnic – especially a first picnic for our youngest grandbabe, Laney. The child development center she attends roped off their parking lot, set up tables and grilled hot dogs for the children and their families. All the little ones were so well behaved – and, it was such a beautiful spring day for eating outside. Well, it was a bit breezy – but, this is the Southern Plains and wind is a fact of life here.
Laney (and her Baby Brobee) had a great time – and enjoyed the food (especially the Cheetos). But their favorite part of the picnic was the playground – here’s Laney making a run to be the first on big slide.

Go Laney Go !

Milestone . . . .

First tooth lost - - - -
lots of excitment and preparations for a visit from the 'tooth fairy'. Seems like just a few weeks ago that he was a baby and now he is almost six years old.

Can't believe how fast our grandbabes are growing up !
And, I think that means I'm getting older too !!

Busy Weekend

Cupcake decorating
(with lots and lots of sprinkles)
Drum practice
Really loud drum practice
Seriously - it scared the cats !

Finding out that dinosaurs
are just as much fun as Barbie dolls.

And, tea parties are the best way to end the day at Grandma & Papa Bill's house.

A 'memory making' weekend with our KC Girls.

Crafting together

A holiday tradition of sorts -- crafting with the grandbabes. Sometimes it's the entire crew crafting together -- other times it's just one or two. This year is was just two: Joe doing the actual crafting and his baby sister supervising from her highchair nibbling on yogurt snackies.
Card stock, rubber stamps and glittery blue ink -- lots of concentration, hard work and a giggle or two thrown in -- result in some very nice hand-made cards for Teachers and Mama's too !

Joe and I liked this so well that we might just try our hand at Mother's Day cards this spring -- because you are never too young to create !!
