All wrapped up . . . .

With the night-time temps dipping down to 28 degrees, our tender plants needed to be protected against all that cold. As you can see, we improvised with the coverings we created for the flower beds.

Roses bushes (that were covered with tiny buds) were covered with paper drop cloths, old sheets and quilts. Some of the smaller plants were covered with trash bags or clay pots. Our yard and most of the yards on our street, looked our laundry bags had exploded in the landscaping!

Hopefully today we can remove the coverings today and let the plants free of their protective garb -- and, in the coming days, there will be roses, day lilies, and iris. We can look forward to signs of spring again soon.
