I armed myself for a battle -- long-sleeved shirt -- heavy gloves -- new clippers.My opponent was also armed -- with many sharp thorns. (and, lots of new growth too -- which is the main reason for the trimming)
And, although I won the battle -- and, filled our 'big blue' with the trimmings -- the roses did manage to inflict a few wounds before they were looking very neat & tidy for spring.
